He is a gentle soul who is full of career insights and wisdom both within the career field, and the wider scope of life itself. Our students who have worked with him have found him to be engaging, thoughtful, and creative in how he networks and creates mentoring constellations to extend experience opportunities to as many interested young people as possible. It has been an honour to be put in touch with Dr. Khosa. I have the utmost respect for the work that he does, and the gift of his time and effort for the students I work with. A most sincere thanks to him for his unique approach to mentoring, and for including us in his network.
I have had the pleasure of collaborating with Dr. Khosa on a number of research projects. I have really valued how Dr. Khosa takes research collaboration “a step further”, by providing mentorship and support to the medical students. His wide and impressive network also leads to successful national and international collaborations. Thank you Dr. Khosa for your continued mentorship and support, i have really enjoyed working with you and learning from you!
I worked with Dr Khosa extensively as part of his research team on multiple projects. He is dedicated to his students/residents/fellows and offers guidance and mentorship whenever needed. He is supportive of new ideas and offers constructive feedback. His mentoring has helped me achieve my academic and research goals. It has been a pleasure working with Dr Khosa throughout my residency.
Dr. Khosa is one of the most caring mentors I’ve ever met. He is one of a kind in his method of mentoring and is always available for students and mentees. His leadership is outstanding; i.e. delegating tasks and assigning roles to the team members based on their different levels of experience, expertise or practice. I am an IMG (International Medical Graduate) who has had the honour of knowing and working with him since April 2018. I’ve been learning a lot from him and got motivated in my career even more than before. His advice is not only about success in career, but also about designing a successful life. Words cannot explain my feelings, he is amazing!
Dr. Khosa has been a great motivator and mentor in my medical career. He is enthusiastic about teaching students and is always supportive of our interests and our ideas, getting us involved in research early and is always available for guidance.

I had the wonderful opportunity of working with Dr. Khosa during my diagnostic radiology elective at UBC hospital. He was very kind to involve me in a research project with his team. He is an excellent mentor who guides and facilitates his mentees to perform at their best. He is always available to lend a helping hand and will go out of his way to help students succeed. Because of his passion and extensive experience, he is also an excellent career counselor.
It has been a great pleasure working with Dr. Khosa and I will forever be grateful for the help I have received from him.

Dr. Khosa is an outstanding mentor and a very knowledgeable physician who helped me excel throughout my work with him. He is a helpful and selfless preceptor, who goes above and beyond to assist and facilitate mentees. I have worked with him for the past few months and he has helped me in many aspects of my medical career and research.
It has been an absolute pleasure working with Dr. Khosa
Dr. Khosa has been an excellent mentor and supportive of me since I met him over 2 years ago. He is always available and responds to my questions promptly, and has given me sound career advice. His selflessness shows through all of his lectures and the students/residents/fellows he has helped, and his story is inspirational. I am so glad to have met Dr. Khosa and look forward to continued collaborations in the future!
I had the honour of meeting Dr. Khosa in my first year of medical school. He inspired me with his passion for leadership and encouraged me to pursue high goals. Since then, we have collaborated on two peer-reviewed radiology publications. He is kind and very helpful as a preceptor; I have always felt well supported under his supervision. Dr. Khosa has been a shaping force in my career.
I had the good fortune to be connected with Dr. Khosa as a medical student on elective at the Vancouver General Hospital. Dr. Khosa sets the example for what a mentor should be, being constantly available, giving excellent career advice, and providing numerous opportunities for students to get involved in disparities research projects. I look forward to my continued collaboration with him now and into the future. His dedication to helping the future generations of medical trainees succeed in their goals is commendable, and I would highly recommend him as a mentor to any student.
I had the chance to work with Dr. Khosa as a medical student. During my elective in diagnostic radiology, Dr. Khosa gave me the opportunity to be involved in a research project, and collaborate with his team. He was very encouraging throughout and provided me with advice on how to realize my career and research goals. I am truly grateful for his mentorship which has made a big difference in my career.
It is a rare privilege to find a mentor in the ranks of Dr. Khosa who is genuinely interested in helping medical students, makes time for them, and is always available for advice and feedback. I met Dr. Khosa at the beginning of my final year in medical school and since then we have collaborated on a major study that will be published in a top radiology journal. I am truly grateful for the experience and advise anyone interested in research to reach out to Dr. Khosa. His hard-work and dedication is contagious and will help you reach your goals.
Dr. Khosa has been a constant source of inspiration and support for me during the last year of struggle with my journey of IMG residency match in Canada.
I’ve worked with Dr. Khosa for over a year and was involved with his fantastic and productive research team (medical students, residents, fellows and numerous IMGs).
I personally worked on gender disparity projects, one of his many innovative topics, which resulted in 2 amazing manuscripts in top American Radiology journals. His strong sense of support and mentoring capabilities have guided me through this path and I’m so thrilled to finally have matched at UBC family medicine residency after working just over a year with his team.
I couldn’t have asked for a better opportunity and I’ll be always thankful for his mentoring and advice.
I’ve worked with Dr. Khosa for over a year in clinical and research settings:
As a clinician, we worked through CT abdomen and Xray chests in the VGH emergency together. He helped me incorporate my approaches to these scans and further consolidate my understanding by filling in gaps in my knowledge. He brought up unique teaching points with each case and was patient in explaining his thought process as we answered the clinical question behind said scans.
As a researcher, he guided me through a bibliometric and gender disparity study. He was easily approachable and fostered a great environment that was conducive to learner growth. We were a team of four, each working remotely from different parts of the world. Yet, the communication between the team was effortless thanks to Dr. Khosa’s excellent managing skills.
It was my pleasure working with him and I hope to continue this moving forward in my career.
I was fortunate to connect with Dr. Khosa to work on a radiology research project advertised through the University of British Columbia network, and he quickly became one of the best mentors I have had. What is most impressive to me is that he is always quick to respond and offer excellent guidance whenever needed. Physicians are undoubtedly extremely busy people, and even while simultaneously mentoring dozens upon dozens of students from across the globe, on top of his clinical activities, Dr. Khosa has a special way of always making himself available for questions and making sure you are heard. In my experience, I have not come across a mentor who is so genuinely committed to helping students succeed, and this is something I am extremely grateful for. A true inspiration and role model for learners of all stages and in all fields of medicine.

Dr. Khosa is an amazing mentor, a kind and sincere leader and a great role model. I worked with him on a project during my elective at VGH. He is very supportive and provided me with guidance regarding choosing a career in medicine. His dedication to help medical students and residents to succeed is exceptional. It was an honour to meet, work with and learn from him. Thank you Dr. Khosa.
I got to know Dr. Khosa when I was working as a Research Assistant in Cardiovascular Imaging at BIDMC in Boston. He served as a source of inspiration for us, I remember him saying “dreams are not what you see while sleeping, dreams are what don’t let you sleep” He helped me focus and set career goals that I had never thought about or considered before. Even now, years later he always takes out time from his busy schedule to help and motivate young doctors and past mentees. The world would definitely be a better place if we have more people like Dr. Khosa. It’s a true honor for me to know him and to be under his guidance.
I met Dr. Khosa rather serendipitously on my elective radiology rotation when he asked me, “how badly do you want to get into your program of choice?”. This question as an introduction rather startled me but he soon got down to showing me how to find a proper research mentor, establishing what was necessary to get into the residency program of your choice, and ways to go about improving your research/application attractiveness.
Not only does he have a keen sense of what motivates people, and how to motivate them (in fact he has a near constant stream of inspirational quotes running at all times), he has this genuine curiosity and caring nature for medical students, regardless of what stage they are at. He truly cares and is an inspirational teacher/motivator and I look forward to hopefully working on more research projects with him. In addition to all of this, he has a uniquely clear vision of what must be done, how it must be done, and when it must be done to reach major goals.
He is a one of a kind mentor that has really stood out from all of the staff I have had in 3rd/4th year medical school. I could not recommend him more as a teacher/mentor or just a generally interesting person to speak with. Lastly, his journey from Pakistan to Harvard are a testament that hard work, a clear vision, and persistence can allow you to achieve just about anything.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Dr. Khosa through a mutual friend. Dr. Khosa without having ever met me has lent his unconditional support for my work. He always responds promptly to all of my queries throughout his busy schedule irrespective of the time of the day or week. Dr. Khosa is like a father figure for medical students, residents and fellows like myself in supporting their research aspirations and career advancement. I look forward to continuing my collaboration with him in future.

I’ve had the pleasure to meet Dr. Khosa, while doing a radiology observership and have been continuing to work with him and his team on research projects.
During my two weeks observing, I’ve learned an incredible amount about radiology and research.
I’ve found that Dr. Khosa is not only one of the most hardworking people I have ever met but also one of the kindest. Furthermore, his drive and passion for his work makes you want to work just as hard.
He is truly an inspiration to physicians and medical students alike.
I had the pleasure of attending the mentoring teleconference with Dr. Khosa and his team/other students and what stood out was his humbleness; something that is hard to find. He didn’t care for people saying how amazing he was (yet I am essentially doing that very thing); all he genuinely wanted to do was to help other students because he was once in our position. These teleconferences are a good way to help students stay motivated and also a great venue to ask questions in a safe environment. I have not met Dr.Khosa but I look forward to the day I do. A.

I am a second year medical student from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (Medical University of Bahrain). I met Dr. Khosa recently during an Observership in June 2017 at Vancouver General Hospital. I am now continuing to work with Dr. Khosa on research projects with his team.
First of all, I am very grateful that I met Dr. Khosa during my second year of medical school as opposed to near the end of my degree so that I can incorporate his suggestions and advice as I go on through my next few years. He is very honest to the students he mentors and does not ‘beat around the bush’. He knows what it is like to be where we are and he genuinely wants the students he mentors to succeed and is willing to put in the extra time and effort to make that happen.
Having said that, he does not ‘give hand outs’ and instead helps students that play their cards right, work hard, meet deadlines, and are persistent with their goals.
Dr. Khosa is patient in a 1-on-1 setting, which I learnt in the Radiology room as he was happy to take time to answer and explain any questions I had regarding patient pathology on radiographic studies. He is also very organised and efficient so even now that I am away from Vancouver he makes it possible to have clear, and efficient communication remotely minimizing the need to direct supervision.
I’m working with Dr. Khosa on a research publication, this summer of 2017.
My experience with Dr. Khosa so far has only been through the phone and emails. However, even with that small exposure you experience a sense of drive, enlightenment, and direction but also more importantly he is a mentor you want to keep in touch with, not only as guide or mentor in medicine but also as an individual that you can learn essential life lessons from.
Dr. Khosa will know when you put the effort in and when you did not. So just put the time in, do your home work.
Medical students, good luck to your future endeavors.
I am a third year medical student at the University of British Columbia. I met Dr. Khosa when I spent the summer of my first year working in the Radiology Department. Dr. Khosa mentored me through my first research publication. He was very personable, approachable, and provided one-on-one guidance whenever I needed help. In addition, he provided me with valuable resources and connections to ensure that I was able to achieve personal success.
Like many other people, I am inspired by Dr. Khosa’s stories of personal determination and of the obstacles and struggles that he had to overcome in order to reach the place that he is at today. Dr. Khosa’s personality and his personal stories will continue to motivate me as I progress through my professional career.
I first met Dr. Khosa in August 2016 for his support with a research project. Due to the complexities of this project, I required Dr. Khosa’s input on a regular basis. Not only was Dr. Khosa immediately available to answer my (often difficult, longwinded) questions, but he also took the time to provide detailed comments and feedback on my work – feedback that was constructive, positive, and motivated me to succeed in this project.
Most importantly, Dr. Khosa was a role model and an invaluable support and mentor. He encouraged me to overcome existing obstacles and to push myself and my research even further. He went above and beyond to connect me with additional resources, and in doing so he introduced me to rare opportunities that I would not have known about on my own.
Despite his own achievements and extensive expertise, Dr. Khosa was always understanding of my challenges, and he offered genuine guidance and support wherever possible. His mentorship helped me develop irreplaceable self confidence, optimism, and positivity in my life. Thank you, Dr. Khosa, for your endless kindness, sincerity, and encouragement.

My time spent with Dr. Khosa was tremendously influential in my career as an aspiring physician. As a mentor, Dr. Khosa allowed me freedom to explore my own path, while giving me the necessary guidance, advice and support to enable my success. It is this combination that I feel makes him a truly extraordinary mentor. From the outset of our collaboration, Dr. Khosa was readily available and consistent in his support. Despite the time constraints of medical school scheduling, we made rapid progress in our collaboration, writing a successful small grant and publishing a research abstract to a national meeting. Through his guidance, wisdom and advice, I feel that I gained invaluable experience and skills necessary for my future career as a physician. I am extremely grateful for Dr. Khosa’s kindness, support and mentorship. I recommend him fully without reservation.

Dr. Khosa was introduced to me in 2014 when I was attending a conference. At that time, I was in the process of residency application in the specialty of Neurology in USA. I found him very knowledgeable and hence approached him to seek further guidance in pursuit of my career building efforts. He advised me on many dimensions of a schematic strategy that provided me great assistance as a beginner after graduating from medical school.
Later Dr. Khosa agreed to share his expertise on research methodology through a seminar at Wayne State University which was attended by over 100 fellows, residents and medical students.
Personally I have met many hardworking people in medicine. Dr. Khosa is distinguished because not only does he work hard but he thinks out of the box and is innovative when lending help and giving advice.
I was introduced to Dr. Faisal Khosa, in CMH Lahore Medical College Pakistan, where he had delivered a lecture on career opportunities for Pakistani Physicians in the United States. Since then, he has delievered scores of such lectures all over Pakistan, guiding the younger generation.
He is by far one of the most productive Pakistani physician in academics in the North America, helping scores of students publish research in indexed journals and also get US clinical experience. He also mentored my team in one of our research projects this year.
I truly admire the work he has done for the young physicians as Chair of the Young Physicians Committee; arranging the YPC symposia, career counselling sessions, research presentation experiences and investing good amount of time for the benefit of future generation. He is a man true of his word who takes a very practical and methodical approach, hence, maximizing the output from any activity.
I have learnt a lot from Dr. Khosa and truly hope that young physicians like myself can emulate his hard work, dedication and compassion.
My acquaintance with Dr. Khosa began several years ago when he visited my institution as a short-term locum consultant. Unlike what most locum consultants do (put their head down and report xyz number of cases), Dr. Khosa impressed everyone with his energy and enthusiasm to lead regular trainee teaching sessions and his desire to help trainees into academic medicine. Since that time, we have colaborated on a few successful projects and I have turned to him time to time for advice. I consider him to be a passionate academic and a teacher who genuinely wishes to give back to the community.

Nothing is more helpful than a good mentor to help you learn and grow in a professional setting. Dr. Khosa is one of such amazing people on both individual and professional levels. I have had a brief interaction with him and nothing I can say will ever convey the amount of gratitude, I owe to him for showing me how to have the right attitude and approach in pursuing my career. The way he has inspired a number of doctors to follow their goals with the right approach, is amazing.
I wanted to express my gratitude for the support that he has shown me. He has been an excellent mentor and a great inspiration for me.

Dr Khosa is an amazing mentor. He is selfless and committed to mentoring young physicians in pursuit of their career goals. He is from my medical school alumni and many people asked me to approach him if I ever needed any help in US. I was hesitant as I did not know him before. I called him after I matched in Internal Medicine residency and was filing for EB-2 NIW based on research. He was very approachable and we had a detailed discussion over the phone. He helped me tremendously in my green card application. He was always available for advice and helped me to collect the required documents. My EB2 petition was approved and Dr Khosa had a major role in this. He has always been very kind, open to help anyone who asked for and very approachable. I am going to be an Hematologist/Oncologist and my medical training in US was made easier because of Dr Khosa. I will always value that.

Dr. Khosa has been the playing a pivotal role in APPNA especially young physicians committee. He guided and helped me starting from the day 1 of USMLE journey till I got the residency spot. I am still in contact with him and getting constant help and guidance in building up my CV for the Fellowship. I have not seen such a humble and down to earth person who is helping young physicians and giving a lot of time from his busy routine. I greatly appreciate your continued mentorship. God Bless You!

Someone refered me to Faisal when I was in search of residency. He did not know me but he did really help me in getting a research job interview and even offered a stay at home. He went above and beyond to help me out. There are not many people around who are so sincere in helping youngsters seeking help and guidance. God bless you Faisal. I don’t have enough words to say thank you for what you do every day to help young docs.
I continue to collaborate with Dr. Khosa in research and mentoring of medical student/s and physician/s (in search of residency). He is excellent mentor and his guidance helps many students/physicians reach their goals; and in fact many of his mentees are prominent physicians now. I commend his dedication and role in mentoring young students and aspiring physicians.

I want to pursue my medical career which combines clinical and research fields. I was looking for such a forum with advice on residency and research in USA and Canada and this website offers information compiled for International Medical Graduates who want to pursue their career in USA or Canada. I am very thankful to Dr. Khosa for making this website. Now IMG’s can easily refer to this site and of course as an IMG, it is also helpful for me.
Once again thank you so much Dr. Faisal. May God bless you.

Dr Khosa has helped numerous applicants with residency and fellowship positions in U.S and Canada. His drive to help anyone irrespective of their medical school or country of graduation is simply unmatched. He is one of the main reasons for APPNA’s success in networking and job opportunities for young graduates.
When I was applying for a radiology residency, guidance was scarce.. most people I knew were going into internal or family medicine. It was not only frustrating, it was stressful. Me being a total stranger to Dr Khosa however did not matter as Dr Khosa went out of his way to guide me about the ins and outs of radiology residency. He was very honest about certain things which helped me gain perspective. I have not had a chance to work with him yet but yes he provided elemental insight in a time when even my own med school colleagues were MIA. Thank you Dr Khosa. Hope we meet in person some day. All the best:)
Dr Khosa is an amazing outstanding mentor and physician both on the academic and personal aspects. I learned a lot from him while we were both working at BIDMC, HMS. His guidance has helped me through all my years of career both in research and academic work at the University. I am still learning from him and he has always been a role model for me. I follow his continuous efforts to help people at his home country; a deed that is highly commendable and recognized.
I am proud to have met such a great person, a teacher, mentor and a friend. A true human being before all.

I consider my self extremely lucky that I got the mentorship of Dr. Faisal Khosa. I didn’t know him at all initially but he contacted me himself after reviewing my CV for radiology fellowship at UBC and provided me guidance. He is a real gentleman, a great professional and I am very proud that he is helping young doctors and providing them a road map in advancing their career. He is a dedicated person who puts lot of time and effort for betterment of struggling students.
Thank you Dr. Khosa!

Dr. Khosa is a charismatic man who expects nothing but the best from you. He inspires excellence in those he mentors by pushing them to achieve their full potential. We worked together on a leadership presentation during an elective I was participating at UBC hospital. He encouraged leadership and autonomy, providing a basic framework from which to work, but at the same time was always available for guidance. I greatly enjoyed the work we shared and would look forward to be involved in future projects.
I know Dr Faisal from Ireland where he coached, mentored and facilitated a large number of IMG’s into training positions.
I had done MRCP and he motivated me to do USMLE and later helped me get a residency in medicine in US. I have seen him selflessly help countless medical students both native and IMG’s in Europe, USA and now in Canada. He continues to do all this without any personal gain or reward. It takes a lot of character to do what you do Faisal. Thank you for helping me when I needed it the most.
Dr. Khosa is a wonderful person and a great mentor. He is an inspiration for young physicians aspiring for an academic career. His valuable advice and guidance has helped me both personally and professionally. Thank you Dr. Khosa for your constant support and mentorship.

First time i spoke with Dr Khosa he took his time to talk to me about my goals and then came up with a tailored plan to help me reach my goal. Dr. Khosa has a very positive yet realistic attitude towards life and after talking to him I felt more motivated and encouraged. Despite his busy schedule, he is easily accessible via email and phone- I’m extremely grateful for his guidance and help. Thanks!
My interactions with Dr. Khosa were of amazing benefit for my career. We worked on a research project that helped me develop technical skills in the area of bibliometrics. One of the most valuable aspects of working with Dr. Khosa is that he pushed me to meet tight deadlines and increase my overall productivity during medical school. Ultimately, he played a vital role in enhancing my applications to radiology residency programs and, without a doubt, ensured my success.

I am thankful for all the efforts you are putting in grooming young radiologists to become sound professionals. So many owe their success to your support and mentorship.
Thanks a lot Dr Khosa.
Dr Yasir Jamil Khattak.
I am a medical student at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, and I have been so lucky to work under Dr. Khosa’s supervision for my research projects in radiology. I think he is the ideal mentor that every medical student would hope to have.
He is knowledgeable, always willing to listen, loves to teach, and responds to emails in minutes. He made me feel that I was truly a valuable member of the team; deserved his attention and guidance, which made me more motivated to maximize my potential.
More importantly, Dr. Khosa’s unique and inspirational life experience always taught me something that was beyond medicine. I was always fascinated by his legendary stories of persistent pursuit of excellence, from which I learned the lessons to project confidence by speaking clearly, to appreciate the importance of win-win relationships in negotiations, to have a sense of humor, to be kind to people, and to be committed to things you believe in.
Dr. Khosa not only showed me the beauty of radiology, but also changed my perspectives on life. I am extremely grateful to him.

I met this guy more than fifteen years ago and found him full of vastness of ideas and vision. He has a flame in his heart and ignites the same in people around him. A flame that kept him walking, no matter what the journey was. A journey from death bed to Harvard………………..and the journey continues.
Dr. Khosa played an instrumental role in my development as a radiologist and more importantly as a person. He helped me develop the skills necessary to succeed early on in radiology residency, through step by step training at the workstation. He helped me be of better service to referring physicians and technologists by building my confidence in dealing with commonly encountered problems. As I progressed in residency he helped me turn an interest in research into multiple publications and taught me how to turn an idea into a deliverable project. Perhaps most important of all, he has always been willing to share sage advice, life experience, and words of congratulation and encouragement at the right time. He seems to always be looking for new ways to help those around him for no other reason than simply wanting to see others succeed.
I have known Dr. Khosa for last one year and admire him for his work and efforts to help young physicians. He has tirelessly helped many physicians succeed and achieve their goals. I wish we can clone more humans out of him.
Thanks, Dr. Faisal for being a role model for all of us.
Im honored to write a testimonial for Dr. Faisal Khosa whose contributions are exceptional for both the undergraduates and graduates in shaping their career and providing guideline at each step particularly in pursuit of post graduate training. IMG’s face a lot of obstacles to start training in USA which is both competitive and requires persistent hard work. Dr. Khosa has been a source of motivation and guidance for me. He remained concerned at each step and continued provision of resources to facilitate my career goals. During mentoring he puts together a collaborative team of his fellows to make it easy for the aspirants to complete their tasks. He is an excellent mentor, counsellor and a human being. By far, working under his supervision has been a very productive experience in USA. He is an inspiration for me and continues to infuse the spirit of helping and guiding others with utmost sincerity.

It was an email from me to an unknown Pakistani doctor, that later resulted in life changing response from someone as selfless and dedicated as Dr. Faisal Khosa. It was fascinating knowing someone like him who is one-man ‘diplomatic corps’ of Pakistan and whose name is synonymous with helping and mentoring Pakistani doctors in North America.
Dr. Khosa, though sounds imperious in initial encounters, is a thorough professional, very clear headed and an empathetic person who would go an extra mile to help anyone about whom he is confident. I later met him for real only to find out that my previous thoughts about him were an under statement.
It’s a treat to get to know and meet Dr. Khosa for the way he inspires you to believe in your abilities and allowing those abilities to be used not just for your own self but for the good of others, who may need them direly.
My interactions with Dr. Khosa have been nothing short of a gratifying experience. His belief that the mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled is what makes him exclusive. Simply put, he is a man whose imagination and creativity knows no bounds. His potential is idyllically complemented by his zealous yet selfless personality. Not only is he strongly inclined towards guiding and mentoring emerging doctors, he maintains network of colleagues and collaborators who open doors for his mentees and help jump-start their careers. Dr. Khosa, is a true representation of a ‘guardian-angel’ for each of his mentees’ life and I feel extremely lucky to be one of them.

Dr. Khosa is a great inspiration to me and so many others. I learned a lot from his life journey and got guidance from his lectures. It is important to know your dreams and goals but it is far more important to know the roads leading to them and continue the journey.
‘’The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires’’.
This inspiration from a mentor can be the difference between success and greatness, and Dr. Khosa is a quintessential example of that inspiring mentor. With a personality that exudes passion and enthusiasm even behind a digital screen, he is a true representation of a go-getter. Despite his demanding schedule, he is very much approachable and is fully engaged in each of his delegated projects. The best part about Dr.Khosa is that he helps people become a better version of themselves rather than trying to mold them to his perspective.
Selfless people like Dr. Khosa, who are so driven to give back to the community with a belief that the ripples will continue and someday change the world, are the ones who actually do it. May we all follow your footsteps!

My name is M. Sohaib Qamar. It is my pleasure to be able to write this testimonial for Dr. Faisal Khosa. I worked with him a few months before I matched in IM program.
I started following Dr. Khosa’s youtube videos while listening to motivational talks and preparing for USMLE. It was his clarity on goals of life and decision making that really stood out to me. During his USMLE prep days he was incapacitated physically after a traumatic event. He proved with his dedication that we can all achieve goals despite hard times and stipulations. After two years of social media following, I asked for his advice regarding research experince and I got a very straight forward answer without any ambiguities, as I expected. It helped me tweak my to-do-list and complete tasks in timely manner.
I learned the following from working with him:
Problems are oppurtuities to grow if we look at them with a positive mindset. We must ask ourselves to exceed expectations (our own and others). We should try to add value to every endeavour and every person.
I would definetly recommend his mentorship if you want a balanced and practical approach towards your USMLE, research and residency goals.
As my mentor, Dr. Khosa provided indispensable career guidance and support. With his aid I was able to attain a amazing research opportunity at Emory University to bridge the gap between medical school and residency. Over the last year I have published 16 manuscripts/abstracts/posters and have expectations to have over 30 by July 2017. I am currently working with him on several projects. I have only great things to say about Dr Khosa. He takes out considerable time to help medical students and medical graduates achieve their career goals. I also saw this first hand at APPNA 2016. Helping others and giving back is one of his main focuses. Not only does he help me directly, but indirectly I have met so many others in his network. I am very fortunate to have been introduced to Dr Khosa and for the opportunities that have stemmed since.

He gave me an excellent opportunity to work as research associate in the second biggest and a well known hospital in Canada (Vancouver General Hospital). This has been a game changer for me as an IMG. He is qualified, has tons of experience and is a true asset for IMG’s. His services span Ireland, USA and now Canada. He is always there for help, advice and mentoring. Inspite of an extremely busy life, he still manages and takes out time for career counselling and shares his experience to help the young physicians. His awards including ARRS scholarship are examples of academic excellence.
Thank you Dr khosa

Such a wonderful person. I sent him an email for the first time today and asked for guidance and he called me right away. I had a long conversation with him and would like to highlight some points, most of us might already know but very few understand… (i really wish I could have recorded that conversation and posted it).
1) Be Positive.
2) Never stop trying. Allah can forgive any sin but not the “Kufr” (giving up).
3) Always try to improve yourself e.g. your CV, Communication skills etc. Dont blame circumstances or the world for your personal failures.
4) When you get successful, remember to help others.
5) When someone sincerely tries to help you, appreciate their sincerity and effort. Don’t ridicule them if you do not get what you expected.

Dr Khosa has been instrumental in assisting anyone who reaches out to him for help. He has always provided forthright advice, mentoring and assistance to medical students, residents and fellows. He is honest and trustworthy, and I am glad to have known him and seen his hard work for young physicians. This website is a nice effort, and much needed to disseminate available opportunities. I look forward to attending some lectures in the future and help Dr Khosa in any way I can. All the best and thank you for all that you do. Keep inspiring.
“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.”
This quote describes everything about Dr. Faisal Khosa. He is not only a great mentor but also an honest and a humble person. He is always an email or a call away, ready and willing to help students and young physicians. He teaches in such a way that inspires, encourages and motivates. He has taught me not only what to think but also how to think. I am lucky to have him as a mentor.
Some things you can’t learn or understand just by reading, you have to have someone with prior experience explain it to you. My work with Dr. Faisal Khosa was amazing! He gave excellent feedback about our research project and made it clear that he was available for us. For me, he gave me great career advice. I enjoyed working with him.
Dr. Faisal Khosa is an inspiration. His dedication and commitment to Radiology and towards helping the young physicians is commendable. He is a person who will give you the right advice at the right time and will always be there to bail you out of a difficult situation. I have known him for over four years now and my respect for him has been growing more and more with every passing day. The fact that he invests his time and energies into others and gives selfless advice is something that not a lot of people are capable of doing these days. His valuable advice and support has helped me progress in my Radiology career. He is one of the most important people that I owe my success to! Thank you once again Dr. Khosa!
Dr. Khosa is a living example of selflessness. I have been aimlessly pursuing my career for the past few years. It is only when he starated mentoring me, I not only gained insight but also confidence and perspective about my future in radiology. For that i shall be eternally greatful. He is realistic and optimistic. The two qualities that are very difficult to coexist in the same person. His inspirational quotes are highly motivational. He is the kind of person who always bring out the best in people. May you continue to be a source of guidance to many more!
Met Dr. Khosa just last year but haven’t been more impressed from anyone than him. Not only is he an excellent radiologist but also a selfless individual who goes out of his way to help others. I have seen him help many new and old graduates both in Canada and USA. I am very excited and happy to be joining him in Vancouver next year because I know he is the best mentor anyone can ask for. Dr. Khosa is a great mentor and an amazing person. He is an inspiration for me. The best part of his mentoring is that he picks up raw talent and shapes it into the best of its forms. Which is pretty much against the flow. He is not the person who will tell you “no, you cannot” or ” Oh its too late”. His answer will always be “lets see how we can fix it”
He is man of his words. He will do what he tells you and will expect the same. He will never tell you or promise you what he can or will not do.
In short he has been a perfect mentor for me, and perfection can not be improved.
There are few people in the world who would go the extra mile for you. Dr Khosa is a gem of a person who (despite being a busy academic and clinical radiologist himself) leaves no stone unturned to help and mentor in any way at all at both personal and professional levels. Words like “limits” do not exist in Dr Khosa’s dictionary, there is always a way. It has been an honor for me to know what an amazing dedicated person he is and to be one of those who are continuously benefiting from his guidance… He is one of the people who restore your faith in selfless humanity and motivate you to never settle for anything less than you deserve!
Thank you sir, for each day of the past, today and always!

Navigating the path to becoming a physician without an experienced mentor can be like navigating the sea without a compass (or GPS). Dr. Faisal Khosa has been invaluable to me as a mentor. At many crossroads, he provided insightful and confident guidance based on his years of experience as a physician, an academic, and a mentor. Beyond that, he rewards effort from proteges by selflessly putting effort in himself for their benefit. For his selflessness and willingness to guide, I and many other young physicians owe him our eternal gratitude.

Through his mentorship and guidance, I learned how to independently formulate research ideas, write manuscripts, and eventually lead my own projects. He is an inspiration to many and his determination is unmatched. Despite being a busy physician, he still has time to advocate for diversity in medicine and mentor students.

I was able to learn the means of data collection and the organization of information, while gaining insight on the current medical advancements. Dr. Khosa has helped me acquire a new skill set that I will take with me as I progress into my first year in university, as a health sciences student and an aspiring doctor.
Working with Dr. Khosa has been an honour as it was an experience that has helped me find meaning in my passion for healthcare, while inspiring me to become a better learner. The lessons taught by Dr. Khosa have been some of the most valuable teachings that I have received. I am very grateful to be working with a mentor who has offered countless opportunities and I am looking forward to growing into a better learner with him as my mentor.
Dr. Khosa is such a supportive and kind mentor who is always willing to provide meaningful insights and guidance. He gave me a research project that allowed me to become more independent, grow and push my boundaries as a learner. I admire his passion for mentoring and I am grateful for the opportunity to work with him. Not only has he helped me with expanding my research and professional skills, but has also facilitated my personal development, which I think is very meaningful.
My research project resulted in a scientific publication on which I am a co-author. I have not come across anyone other than Dr. Khosa who mentors and offers authorship to high school and undergraduate students. This in fact sets his mentees apart from other applicants aspiring to apply to dental or medical school.
I look forward to continue working with him and his amazing team!
I met Dr. Khosa when I was a fellow at Vancouver General Hospital. Dr. Khosa was always kind, encouraging and supporting others to achieve more. He creates a work environment which is relaxed and enjoyable. He ensures trainee autonomy yet steps in when needed. His motivational quotes and anecdotes alongside teaching through out the work shifts and his great sense of humor make working alongside him fun even in the middle of exhausting night shifts. Personally, Dr. Khosa encouraged me to realize my potential and achieve more than I thought was possible. He always emphasized that nothing is impossible with persistence and hard work and gave me both hints and direct advice on how to approach challenging situations. Even after the completion of my fellowship he continues to mentor and send opportunities my way. I am very grateful for the kindness and help Dr. Khosa continues to provide.
I met Dr. Khosa when I came to UBC as a first-year undergraduate student, which was around three years ago. I expressed to him that my dream was to become a doctor, and he generously offered to be my mentor. I was not sure what that entailed at first, but it has undoubtedly been a privilege to be mentored by Dr. Khosa. I was recently admitted to the MD program at UBC and I could not have done it without Dr. Khosa’s endless support and guidance.
Dr. Khosa has introduced me to countless research opportunities which involved renowned scientists and physician researchers from all over the world. Thanks to Dr. Khosa’s mentorship, I’ve worked on all stages of research, such as study design, data collection, performing data analysis, and drafting the manuscript. Dr. Khosa is available every step of the way to facilitate the process any way that he can. To date, I have published 8 peer-reviewed papers, all of which were thanks to Dr. Khosa’s mentorship. Looking forward to many more in the years to come!
Dr. Khosa is an excellent mentor and I feel extremely lucky to have met him. Any student who has the chance to work with and be mentored by him should take advantage of the amazing opportunities. Dr. Khosa gives all his students the same opportunities, you just have to put in the time and effort to see the fruits of your labour.
While research opportunities are difficult to find as high school students, Dr. Khosa welcomed my peers and I for research and work experience. With Dr. Khosa and his research team, I had the opportunity to work on 2 peer reviewed publications. In addition, this year I was the Co-Plenary Director for Vancouver Operation Med School 2020, a high school conference for aspiring physicians. When I asked Dr. Khosa to be our keynote speaker, he happily obliged and even connected me with other students and physicians to facilitate our OMS activities and workshops. Dr. Khosa is truly a passionate and inspirational mentor.
I had the chance to work with Dr. Khosa under my school’s work experience program. Not only did he provide us with research opportunities, but he took time out to personally mentor me and other students. He provided us with insightful and meaningful advice that will greatly aid us in the future. I am so lucky to have had the chance to work with him!
Dr Khosa is an incredible mentor and advisor! I am so grateful for the opportunity to work on a research project with him. Since day one he has always given amazing advice and support not only in terms of the project, but also my own professional development and it’s evident that he’s very committed and passionate about mentoring. I look forward to working with him and his team in the future!
Dr. Khosa has been an incredible advisor and guide on a recent project that I had worked on, with him. His constructive feedback and support during the entire project have been invaluable. Regardless of whether it was a technical matter or even simply moral support. I look forward to working with him again.
Dr. Khosa is an awesome mentor! He gave me the opportunity to select a project that I was passionate about, while giving me the freedom to develop my skills as a researcher by taking the lead on the work. In addition to that, he always made himself available to provide support and give advice, whether in areas of the project or when it came to my professional development. I am very lucky to have worked with him!
Dr. Khosa is a wonderful mentor who I have worked on a publication with. His passion for mentorship was evident not only in my interactions with him, but also in the numerous students he has worked with and the numerous talks he has given. I look forward to continue working with him in the future!
I have been working with Dr.Khosa for the past 2 years. He was kind to provide me with a research opportunity, which eventually led to a successful publication. He is very supportive, and quite involved in mentoring students needing guidance. I find myself fortunate to have worked with him, and plan to continue building good relationship with him as a mentor-mentee.
I have worked with Dr Khosa since last year. He has been very encouraging, and supportive. Immediately, he got me involved in one of the research projects, that has been progressing very well. Additionally, he directed me to conferences that are happing in Vancouver, which has been a great opportunity for me so far. What a great mentor, who is always considerate of the students. It has been a pleasure to work with Dr Khosa.
Dr. Khosa is an encouraging and supportive mentor who gives ownership of projects to his students but offers guidance when needed. Dr. Khosa communicates very effectively with students and is always approachable for feedback and insight.
I have been working with Dr. Khosa since 2+ years and have published 3 papers and am currently leading 2 more projects with him. Dr. Khosa is an exceptional mentor. As a result of his mentorship and support I have learned many personal and professional skills that have allowed me to further my career goals. He genuinely devotes his time with sincerity to see us succeed but this reciprocates with how sincere and serious one is with one’s own career. If you give your all, he leaves no stone unturned to enable your success. He connects you with the right people you need and gives you the opportunity to engage in collaborative works with them. He is not only an excellent career counselor but a mentor with the keys to doors of opportunities. Without his support, guidance, and strong letters of recommendations (from him and his networks I collaborated with) I would not be where I am at today. I highly recommend Dr. Khosa as a mentor.
I worked with Dr. Khosa throughout medical school as part of his research team. He is a trusting and supportive mentor and is dedicated to helping all of his students/residents/fellows succeed. He has been a great role model for me and has helped foster my passion for radiology. His guidance has been instrumental in helping me achieve my career goals. I am very grateful to Dr. Khosa for all his mentorship and support.
Dr. Khosa has been instrumental in mentoring our Work Experience Program students at Crofton House School.

Faisal bhai, i am extremely pleased to see the role you are playing for promoting and encouraging Pakistani doctors in getting post graduate education and training jobs in USA, UK and CANADA. It is a great service for Young Physicians and may Allah accept your good deeds and reward you.
When I first met Dr Faisal I was inspired by his command over Radiology. Later through various interactions I found him to be a selfless person paving way for his juniors by being a beacon of light. He is out there building bridges . May Allah shower His blessings on him.
I consider myself very fortunate to have a mentor like Dr Khosa. He has been an inspiration to me for many years. He is a gifted speaker and his lectures are an invaluable source of knowledge for thousands of aspiring residents and fellows. In fact it was his lectures that motivated me to pursue the path of residency in US. He is always available for any guidance and support that I need despite his busy schedule and commitments. This shows his genuine concern and intent to help young physicians excel. He is a thorough gentleman and an exceptional human being. I can only wish and strive to be like him.
Thank you Dr Khosa for being there every step of the way. Keep up the good work. Stay blessed.
Faisal my friend it has been a pleasure knowing you from the first week in anatomy lecture of Dr Bones (forgot the full name apologies) at Nishtar Multan, from highs and lows and some stupidities to watching you transform into Professor Faisal Khosa, the humble man you are and going out of the way to help medical community all over the globe and in Pakistan especially. I always have and always will try to support you as much as I can. Love you Khosa.
I look forward to working with you for many more years.
This is simply excellent! I have first hand knowledge of his commitment to furthering medical education and mentoring young physicians. It is pleasure to serve on the Committee of Young Physicians with Dr. Khosa and looking forward to years of collaborative work!
Dr. Faisal khosa is an amazing physician and great human being. He is one of the most dedicated persons, I have ever seen involved in young physicians higher education and training. His services as Chair of Young Physician Committee of APPNA are so commendable.
I am so proud of him! Keep it up my friend!

Dr. Khosa is a great mentor and an inspiration for everyone around him. His achievements, and supportive and caring attitude are one in a million.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank him from the core of my heart for guiding and showing me the way.
Thank you Dr Khosa for your mentorship. It has been pleasure working with you. I hope you continue to help young physicians across North America like you have for countless years.
Nizar.
Dr. Khosa is an amazing mentor and invests a lot of his time and resources to help students achieve success. He is known for his inspirational quotations as well as drawing from his own personal experiences to help motivate students and allow them to find their way to success. I’ve worked with him in research and truly gained a lot from that experience.
